What is a Blesbok? The Blesbok is a medium sized species of antelope that calls the highveld of South Africa home. We have excellent Blesbok hunting on our hunting area in Mpumalanga Province.

Though Blesbok rams and ewes are very similar in appearance, rams are slightly larger and than ewes. A mature ram normally weighs 120-150 pounds and an ewe often weighs 100-130 pounds. A mature Blesbok will stand 2.5-3.5 feet tall at the shoulder.

Blesbok have a brown coat with a light colored rump and white patches on their lower legs. Additionally, their bellies are white and they have a white colored face.

They prefer to live on the open grasslands of the South African highveld and do not like areas with thick woods. Blesbok are primarily grazing animals, and normally live in herds of dozens of other animals.

How do you distinguish males from females when Blesbok hunting? Male and female Blesbok appear very similar and can be difficult to tell apart when when Blesbok hunting.
